Tibia Flash Client Beta Test
The Tibia Flash Client Beta Test has finished and we are all waiting to see if the changes recommended by the Beta Testers will be happening.
I didn’t get as much testing of the new Tibia Flash Client done during the Beta Test as I wanted to but the time I spent on it was fun.
I loved being able to put items into the sidebars and being able to find something quickly. I liked being able to change soft boots for boh, hellforged axe for fire axe, all without looking for them. It was a simple mouse click.
I also really liked being able to have Sets. Sets allow you to set your hotkeys and sidebars for each vocation. You can have it set for a low level mage and a high level mage and it’s simply a case of changing the set to match the vocation and level. With 8 sets to choose from, you should be able to meet any situation.
I hated one thing in particular and that was NPC’s now talk in pink. It drove me nuts. I sincerely hope they change that colour. I’m also not keen on the hud myself. I found it too intrusive.
I didn’t notice it myself but many testers complained that the FPS were too low and stayed around 30 – 40 FPS which was too slow for many testers. As I usually play with those FPS I didn’t notice it.
Other issues were where items returned when taken from BP’s (into the main bp – not the bp it was kept in), walking, no maps being uploaded yet and problems with some of the hotkeys being integral to the browers. Examples of the problems with hotkeys with browers are F1 in Internet Explorer and Ctrl W in Firefox.
Skyrr, Craban and Akanato each took control of certain threads and there was a lot of posts written with responses from them.
I hope that CIP can get the fixes necessary done. We’ve been advised that all our posts and issues are being looked at and I and many other Beta Testers are hoping that there will be a second Beta Test so the issues can be checked before CIP goes to an Open Test.
I believe the Flash Client will be great for players and I’m looking forward to it going live.
