Report Botters and Statements

Tibia has announced that their next update will allow players to report botters and statements.  You can read the announcement here.   CIP has titled it Further Reporting Options as it adds onto the ability for players to report names and rule violations.

As can be expected there is quite a bit of discussion going on about it and there are several replies by the Community Managers (CM).

Report Botters

This will be interesting to see how it works and if more action is taken against botters.  CIP has said it’s automatic tool catches all botters but as we all know, it doesn’t.  Everyone can tell stories of some friend or real life (rl) who has never been caught over the last year plus since CIP started doing it.  CIP at least increased it’s bans to about 5k every 2 weeks rather then 5k every month but they still exist.

CIP states reporting a botter will allow them to continue to develop the automatic botting detector program they have.  We’ll see how it works out.  CIP stated that players reporting a botter will not result in a ban so even if a 100 reports are made the player won’t be excluded

The botter must be online to report him so you can’t stand at the depot and make botting reports.

Report Statements

Tibia and CIP announced that all players will be able to report statements in public channels.  Ogrey on the discussion channel states that most players will have the options to report botter and statements about 40 times a month.

This does not mean you can report private messages (PM/PVT) and the channels you can report are:

  • Game Chat
  • Trade (including Trade Rookgaard)
  • RL
  • Help

Those are the same channels that Senior Tutors were able to report so nothing has changed there.

CIP announced that further changes are in the works and that minor rules broken will be treated leniently.  It will be interesting to see how this develops Tibia wide.

Many players are asking that default channel and PM’s be added but CIP has resisted this since Senior Tutors have had the ability to report statements.  We asked repeatedly for this option but never got it.  Let’s see what the future brings.

How to have different hotkeys sets in your tibia client

I keep being asked how to do this.  It’s not that difficult, you just have to spend a bit of time finding where the files are saved.  The instructions are very good and thanks to Exile for writing this.

You also have to be aware that your map files and saved conversations will be in different folders after this.

Tips:

  • If you use one client more then the other, get into the habit of copying your maps files to the other clients map files so they stay current.   Check when was the last time you updated and copy maps from that date forward.
  • If you plan to copy map files, make sure you send a shortcut of where your maps are saved to the desktop for each client, makes it much easier to find them in the future.
  • Make sure you know what client you are logged onto, otherwise the hotkeys won’t be the ones you are expecting, especially if you have logged in a hurry
  • Keep at least one common hotkey for each char ie F1 for exura so you are not trying to remember where it is when you are trying to stay alive.

Forum added

I’ve added a forum to Tannylouise.com.

This forum is for my Bound by Blood guild, my friends and fellow Mytherans to use.

To join the forum you need to sign up and then an email will be sent with a link to join.  If you don’t receive an email, check your junk folder.

If there is a forum you would like to have added, post the question into Ask Tannylouise and I’ll see what I can do.

There is a general and trade forum for all members to visit and for my guild members there’s a forum just for us :D

There are rules to obey and offensive posts will not be approved or will be deleted.
